Permanent Exhibition

The permanent exhibition was opened in 1969. Thanks to the complex and very subtly conceived conception, the relatively old age of the exhibition affects neither its topicality and attractiveness, nor the high quality of the information it provides about Jewish history and way of life. Territorially, the permanently exhibited collection covers the entire territory of the former Yugoslavia, and chronologically covers the history of Jews from their arrival in these areas, in the II – III century, until World War II and the Holocaust, and the renewal of the Jewish community. This huge period is skillfully and concisely presented within an area of 200 m2, where, in addition to history, the visitor can also get acquainted with Jewish customs, architecture, culture and art.
